E. R. Schroeder's Custom Furniture Upholstering
Modified upholstery leather stretcher.
Drilled 9 1/16 holes clean through both arms, and 1/8 holes only through bottom arm holes. Put # 16 black
upholstery tacks into top holes and pounded then in tight.
You can see the griping power of the tacks when you close the arms on leather or seat webbing.
The tacks will go through the leather or seat webbing when the stretcher is closed. This allows you better
holding power when you pull the tool over the edge of the furniture. Very little pressure is used to hold
the leather or webbing, making it easy to push down on the tool and getting the desired stretch.
This tool is very helpful when re-stretching loose good seat webbing.
